TRAVELING FOR THE 4th? Let me help you....

we are quickly approaching the biggest holiday of the summer, one of the most traveled holidays of the year, and one of my favorites. with that being said, i wanted to give a few tips for packing for the weekend no matter your destination. even if your driving it is still inconvenient to pack a ton of clothes that you will never wear, so lets think through this, and pack only the necessities to keep you fabulous & together all weekend long.

growing up i had a mother who always overpacked (she still does), a father who under packed (now a world class packer), and a brother who just didn't know how to pack (were still working on him, but he is getting there!) - so somewhere in-between them all, i think that i figured it out. if you don't believe me, just ask my roommates, i have made it a science!

just a few packing tips
  • always lay everything out on your bed before putting it in your suitcase, this allows for you to make sure that you are not over packing or forgetting anything
  • think versatile pieces not necessarily "out-fits," because we all know that our mood can affect what we want to wear
  • one pair of neutral heels will do the trick, no need to pack 3 pairs for a long weekend
  • underwear- now Im guilty of this :-/, it is not necessary to bring 2-3 pairs for everyday, especially when you know you will be in a bathing suite for a majority of the day
  • heavy shoes (tennis shoes or heels) go in first, and then jeans, pajamas, coverups, etc... lay your nicer clothes on top that you dont want to wrinkle on the top.
  • make use of "empty space" wisely. for example, roll your sports bra and socks and put them in your tennis shoes
  • in order to save room it is best to roll cotton tops, the will not wrinkle and you can stack them
  • lay your travel outfit out- make sure this includes one of the pair of shoes that you plan on wearing throughout your trip. I also always try and wear jeans on the plane, plane seats are icky.

Food For Thought Tuesdays

one of my favorite quotes that my dad is constantly reminding my brother and I of. speaking before thinking is never a good idea, especially in the working world.

Sweet Summer Time

sophisticated, yet extremely stylish,
for work or for play
cut off shorts have been a trend for years, however
I just love the touch of pop that has been added to the collection.
LOVE the natural look of the color and the waves.
Save the money and let the sun do the work
the more the merrier has always been my motto :)
you can never go wrong with neutral nails,
especially if they have a hint of shimmer
have fun with your toes, they can be a subtle
statement piece to for any occasion.

Can't Live With 'Um, Can't Live Without 'UM

So... Being a single girl with a lot of single friends and co-workers has led me to be constantly involved in conversations involving: "Should I be worried?," "How long should I wait to respond?," "Do you think he likes me?" "Should I text him?," or may favorite "What do you think that means?". All girls, myself included, tend to spend too much time trying to get inside of a boy's, or should I say man's, head and it just isn't going to happen, ever. We will never understand their ways, and they will never understand ours and that's that. So, the lesson to be learned here is for all of us to just stop and take a DEEP BREATH (right Kell), and know that everything is going to work out the way it should, and its not worth the stress or the wrinkles. However.... that is way easier said then done, but its worth a try. When the time is right everything will fall into place, but for now, just live it up!
As I mentioned in my first post, this is our prime time in life and we need to go out with the mentality that tonight is going to be blast, not because your going to run into some boy that you are hooking up with, but because your are honestly having a wonderful time with your friends, both guys and girls. I mean truthfully how much longer are you going to be able to live with your best friends and be able to do exactly what you want?... So next time a sticky "man" situation falls in your lap, just do what you feel is right for the moment, and less time trying to analyze the situation because that is where everyone gets in trouble. Just go with it, and if they don't like you for who you really are, then they are not worth the time anyway!

Ha, after reading this I feel that I myself need to  take a really deep breath  :) ....
true.
